Mocktail

Top 5 Favorite Mocktail Recipes

As each new year begins, many people around the world embrace the opportunity to set fresh intentions. Whether it’s joining a gym, improving eating habits, or making more mindful lifestyle choices, January often serves as a natural reset point. One growing tradition is “Dry January,” where individuals take a break from alcohol to focus on their health and well-being.

When I first began my healing journey from an autoimmune condition a few years ago, removing alcohol became a key part of the process. Even after regaining my health, I found that I felt so much better without it that I chose to continue. Realistically, alcohol isn’t exactly a health food. While I occasionally enjoy a drink, I now usually lean toward alcohol-free alternatives—especially when they’re just as enjoyable.

What makes drinking fun for me is often the glassware and presentation. You can make almost any beverage feel festive just by serving it creatively. Try pouring kombucha into a wine glass and adding a sprig of mint—it instantly feels like a celebration, without the alcohol.

Here are a few ingredients and tools I regularly use to craft refreshing mocktails:

  • Mortar and pestle

  • Fresh mint and rosemary

  • Ginger and lavender extracts

  • Kombucha*

  • Silicone ice cube trays

  • Unique and stylish drinkware

*Note: I love using kombucha to add a fizzy texture and boost the drink with probiotics and B vitamins. If kombucha isn’t your thing, club soda or tonic water are great substitutes.
